Sustainability Policy

Effective date: April 7, 2026

At Storytale Weddings, we believe weddings are about people, connection and meaningful moments. The places that hold those memories matter too.

As a small husband-and-wife photography and videography team, we understand that our work still carries an environmental impact through travel, equipment, power usage, digital storage and production. While we are a small business, we believe thoughtful choices made consistently can still make a meaningful difference over time.

This policy outlines our commitment to operating more responsibly while continuing to deliver a calm, high-quality and lasting experience for our couples.

Our Approach:

Our aim is not perfection. It is intentional progress.

We are committed to reducing unnecessary waste, making considered operational decisions and improving our understanding of our environmental impact as our business grows.

We aim to work in a way that is:

  • thoughtful
  • practical
  • transparent
  • long-term focused
  • aligned with the values of care and intentionality that shape our work

Current Sustainable Practices

Travel & Logistics

  • We aim to travel together in a single vehicle wherever possible.
  • We plan wedding coverage routes efficiently to reduce unnecessary mileage.
  • When appropriate, we combine travel for meetings, scouting and shoots into a single journey.
  • For destination weddings, we aim to minimise excess travel and equipment transport where practical.

Equipment & Production

  • We invest in durable professional equipment designed for long-term use rather than frequent replacement.
  • We use rechargeable batteries wherever possible.
  • We maintain and repair equipment to extend its lifespan.
  • We prioritise digital workflows to reduce paper waste and unnecessary printing.

Editing & Product Delivery

  • Unless specifically requested by our clients, 100% of our galleries, films and client communications are delivered digitally.
  • We support intentional album and print ordering rather than mass-produced waste stock. All of our albums are made by hand by a family run business. Unless requested by our clients, we do our own printing on our Epson D700 Dry Lab printer and use suggested recycling practices for all printing supplies.
  • We store and archive projects digitally to reduce physical material usage.

Suppliers & Partnerships

  • We value working with venues and suppliers who care about sustainability, ethical practices and thoughtful hospitality.
  • We aim to support local businesses and independent suppliers wherever possible.

Carbon Emissions

Storytale Weddings is currently in the process of formally measuring and tracking business-related carbon emissions using guidance provided through the SME Climate Hub framework.

The main areas of impact identified within our business include:

  • vehicle travel
  • electricity usage
  • cloud and digital storage
  • equipment manufacturing and replacement
  • destination travel where applicable

As our understanding develops, we aim to improve both measurement accuracy and reduction strategies over time.

Carbon Reduction Plan

As part of our commitment to more sustainable working practices, Storytale Weddings aims to continuously reduce the environmental impact of our operations in practical and measurable ways.

Our primary areas of impact currently include:

  • vehicle travel
  • electricity usage
  • equipment charging and storage
  • digital editing and cloud-based workflows

To reduce our impact over time, we aim to:

  • travel together in a single vehicle wherever possible
  • carefully plan journeys to reduce unnecessary mileage
  • continue using rechargeable batteries and long-life equipment
  • minimise paper usage through digital workflows and delivery
  • review our energy and storage systems regularly for efficiency improvements
  • measure and review our emissions annually using SME Climate Hub guidance

Review Process

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to reflect the way we work and the improvements we aim to make.
